Abstract: Let’s start with 3 key data points: (1) A single bad advanced analytics hire (data scientist, data engineer) costs an organization nearly $100,000; (2) Teams spend on average $15k in internal data scientist/engineer time on just the tech screening part of the interview process for a single position; and (3) The employee churn rate for data science positions is nearly 30%, the second highest in tech. Frustrating, right? It turns out that hiring advanced analytics professionals is error prone and time consuming and retaining them once hired is just as challenging! In this talk we will further dig into these challenges and demonstrate how QuantHub’s advanced analytics tech screening and ongoing skill development platform can help on both fronts, reducing the time-to-fill and error rate with those tough data scientist/engineering positions and ensuring the team already in place is developed, engaged, and ultimately, retained.
